Join us for a 4-week live, online course on Zoom designed for those wanting to begin or build a foundation in a study of the harmonium, music, and kirtan. In this course, you will not only learn new skills and techniques to help develop your personal practice, but you will also get to be a part of a community of other seekers on this path. Seth facilitates a learning environment that is interactive, fun, and engaging. Each class will provide opportunities to connect with other members of the course, share your questions and progress, and receive positive feedback and encouragement from Seth and your fellow participants.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

  • The basics of harmonium playing

  • The fundamentals of music (rhythm, melody, harmony, etc.)

  • Beautiful chant music with harmonium accompaniment

  • Tips for using your voice and singing

  • How to develop your personal harmonium practice

  • How to share your chanting practice with others

THE COURSE ALSO INCLUDES:

  • Downloadable chant notation sheets

  • Audio recordings of each chant to help your learning

  • Video playback of each session

  • 1 private 30 min coaching session with Seth

REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • A harmonium and the desire to learn how to play it. (A borrowed instrument will work. If you’d like to purchase one of your own, please email Ferdie for recommendations from Seth)

  • No music experience necessary.

  • Viewing Device: Desktop or laptop computer will provide the best experience, although you can also connect via a tablet or smartphone.

  • Internet connection: High-speed broadband wired or wireless is best.

  • Video: Download Zoom to your computer, or install the Zoom app to your device. For interactive group sessions, a webcam or integrated camera will allow others to feel more connected with you.

  • Audio: Headphone speakers are recommended. If you wish to participate vocally, a headset with a microphone will be ideal.

Group Classes

EST: 6pm-8pm

PST: 3pm-5pm

Class size is limited to allow for more personal attention and a more intimate, group experience. 

If you are unable to attend live, you can still participate by watching video playback of each class. Classes will be posted within 12 hours of each lesson and you can still receive and download all the course materials.

Private Sessions

Please schedule your private 30 min session Mon-Fri between 9am-7pm EST (based on availability) during weeks 2, 3 or 4 of the course. *Your private session will expire after the final week of the course.

Seth Lieberman

Seth Lieberman is a musician and yoga teacher residing in the Hudson Valley of New York. A lifelong music maker, he studied music composition, theory, clarinet, and piano at the University of Maryland, where he received BA in Music. During his 10 years of time living in Brooklyn, NY, he completed 3 different yoga teacher trainings. Seth has joined his two passions of music and yoga through playing and teaching the harmonium, leading kirtan, and creating original music related to mantra and yoga. He has been actively teaching harmonium both online and in-person for the past 8 years and has helped bring the joy of mantra and music to many students throughout the world.
