Introducing the Mastery Path

The Mastery Path is an integrated harmonium and kirtan training ecosystem where community, mentorship, intentional study, and consistent practice come together inside a focused container for musical development.

The program is structured in six-month practice cycles, providing the time and continuity needed for meaningful musical development. Within each cycle, students build technical skill, deepen repertoire, strengthen musicianship, and establish steady practice alongside a committed community of practitioners.

At the end of each six-month period, members may choose to continue their journey for another cycle.

Intro to Harmonium & Kirtan

Build a strong foundation for playing and accompanying kirtan while learning complete chants from the beginning.

• Play with proper harmonium setup, bellows technique, hand position, and basic coordination

• Navigate the keyboard confidently while playing melody and chord accompaniment

• Learn complete beginner chants through guided breakdowns and play-alongs

Harmonium & Kirtan Level 1

Develop greater fluency, variety, and musicality through complete kirtan arrangements.

• Play full chants using melody, chords, and accompaniment patterns

• Combine melody and chords with smoother transitions and greater flexibility

• Add embellishments, introductions, verses, and more developed musical structures

Foundations of Music for Harmonium

Understand how music works so you can play with greater freedom and confidence.

• Build and use major and minor scales, chords, and common progressions

• Transpose melodies and chords into different keys

• Use inversions, voicings, rhythm, and scale relationships to create more fluid accompaniment

Voice & Harmonium

Develop a more comfortable, coordinated, and confident singing voice for kirtan.

• Build a practical vocal warmup using breath, resonance, humming, sirens, scales, and arpeggios

• Develop greater vocal coordination, flexibility, and ease across different keys

• Use the harmonium to support your voice and guide your vocal practice

Ear Training & Solfeggio

Strengthen your ability to hear, recognize, and reproduce music without relying entirely on notation.

• Hear and sing melodies, intervals, and harmony with greater confidence

• Recognize major and minor chords and common chord progressions by ear

• Use your ear to understand and learn melodies and chants more independently

Chantwriting

Develop your own musical ideas into chants that can work in a kirtan setting.

• Create and refine original melodies

Coming This Fall/Winter: Kirtan Philosophy & Leadership

A new Mastery Path course exploring the deeper principles and practical skills of leading kirtan.

Topics will include:

• The purpose and philosophy behind kirtan

• Developing a thoughtful and authentic approach to leadership

• Choosing and presenting chants with intention

• Working effectively with musicians and creating a supportive musical environment

• Sharing teachings in a way that is clear, personal, truthful, and appropriate to the people in the room

• Bringing musicality, presence, and sensitivity together in a live kirtan setting

Class Meetings

Two live classes take place each week:

• Weekly Harmonium & Kirtan Class
An open community class focused on chant repertoire, harmonium playing, and shared musical practice.

• Weekly Mastery Path Meeting
A weekly session including teaching, guided practice, and group integration.

Some sessions emphasize direct teaching, while others focus on integration and application. Seth is present for the majority of sessions, with occasional travel weeks shifting toward guided practice, assignments, and group integration.

All sessions are recorded.
If you cannot attend live, you can watch the full playback anytime and continue learning at your own pace.
