The goal of this training is to empower and equip each participant with the confidence and ability to lead their own kirtan. The course is designed to give you fundamental skills, tools and knowledge that will take you deeper into your kirtan experience. Over the course of a full immersive weekend, you will learn how to play instruments, lead kirtan on your own, and develop a much more personal relationship to the art of kirtan itself by diving into the deeper layers of kirtan as a spiritual practice. Elements of the course will include exploring the history and meaning of kirtan, how to develop the devotional qualities that can enhance your kirtan offerings, learning rhythm, and how to play harmonium and kartals (hand cymbals). No previous kirtan experience or musical ability is necessary.

Seth Lieberman
Seth Lieberman is a classically trained musician and yoga instructor (RYT 500) residing in Kingston, New York. He began teaching the harmonium and yoga and leading kirtan in 2010 after graduating from his first yoga teacher training in New York City. Since then, he has worked with hundreds of music students in private and group settings, motivating and inspiring them through his passion for sharing music within a spiritual context. Seth brings to his students a balance of the structure and discipline from his extensive classical music training along with a holistic approach to learning from his experience teaching yoga for over a decade. In addition to being an educator, Seth is a composer, performer and active kirtan leader.
