Meditation practice can be a source of calm, insight, wisdom, and stability. If you are already practicing yoga, adding a regular seated meditation practice is a natural compliment to asana (posture) practice and is also deeply connected to the more internal aspects of yoga. However, beginning or re-igniting a sustainable meditation sadhana (practice) on your own can be challenging, as is taking on any new endeavor. This workshop is designed to give you the tools, techniques, inspiration, and guidance to develop a practice that you can incorporate into your daily life and that will support you in the new year.
This workshop will focus on:
How and why meditation fits in to your yoga practice
How we align our bodies properly for seated meditation, techniques for how and where to direct the mind, and the deeper purpose of our practice through spiritual connection
Identifying common obstacles to sitting regularly for meditation and how can we overcome them to establish a joyful and nourishing home practice
We will have time for discussion, questions, and practice together. This is open to all levels of experience with meditation practice, whether you are a complete beginner or wishing to delve back in to practice.
