Administrative & Community Support (Part-Time)
The Harmonium Academy
About the Harmonium Academy
The Harmonium Academy, founded by Seth Lieberman (professional musician, educator, and yoga teacher), is an online and international in-person education platform devoted to harmonium, kirtan, and devotional music. In addition to self-paced courses and live online offerings, the Academy hosts workshops, trainings, and retreats both locally and internationally, serving a global community of students.
Role Overview
We are seeking a warm, reliable, and professional Administrative & Community Support person to support Seth and the Harmonium Academy team. This role is well suited for someone who communicates clearly, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and functions well within a collaborative working environment while supporting both the operational and relational sides of the Academy.
This position is especially aligned for someone who has a meaningful connection to harmonium and kirtan, and who feels genuinely drawn to this work beyond surface-level interest. The role offers an opportunity to support the Academy while continuing to grow in relationship to the music, teachings, and international community of students.
The person in this role will support day-to-day operations, student communication and follow-up, program and membership enrollment, social media presence, and community engagement. The ideal candidate brings a grounded, personable presence to student and community interactions, communicates clearly in writing and conversation, and feels confident navigating web-based tools and platforms. A good design eye, comfort working with digital systems, and the ability to maintain clarity and consistency across content and communication are important foundations for this role.
This is a virtual, part-time position supporting the ongoing work of the Harmonium Academy. It is well suited for someone who values heart-centered service, follows through on commitments, and is interested in growing alongside a small educational team. The role is flexible and has potential to grow over time.
Core Responsibilities
This role supports the day-to-day functioning of the Harmonium Academy across operations, communication, and community engagement.
• Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for Seth and the Harmonium Academy team
• Respond to student and prospective student messages across email, social media, and the community platform in a timely and professional manner
• Guide students through inquiry, follow-up, and enrollment into memberships and courses by answering questions and supporting purchasing decisions
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across systems, including links, pricing, and written copy on the website, newsletters, and Mighty Networks
• Support community and social media engagement by fostering warm, relational interaction and participation
• Assist with ad hoc projects and operational support as priorities shift week to week
• Participate in weekly check-in meetings and communicate clearly about capacity, timelines, and feasibility
Engagement & Social Media
Support a warm, relational, and engaged presence across the Harmonium Academy’s online community spaces, including social media and the community platform (currently Mighty Networks).
• Respond to comments and direct messages in a friendly, thoughtful, and professional tone
• Engage with aligned accounts and community members (harmonium players, kirtan musicians, yoga studios, spiritual educators) through likes, short comments, emojis, or occasional replies when something genuinely resonates
• Foster meaningful participation by initiating simple discussion threads, reflection prompts, or check-ins inside the community platform
• Help identify engaged or curious community members and flag potential student conversations when appropriate
• Contribute ideas for keeping the community active, welcoming, and relationship-centered rather than purely promotional
Administrative & Tech Support
Support the day-to-day administrative and technical operations of the Harmonium Academy across multiple platforms.
• Manage and update content across web-based systems including Squarespace, Mighty Networks, email platforms, and scheduling tools
• Ensure accuracy and consistency across links, pricing, course descriptions, plan pages, and written copy
• Upload and organize content such as audio files, images, thumbnails, and documents as needed
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and navigation of platforms, escalating issues when appropriate
• Help maintain clear internal systems for tracking tasks, student follow-up, and ongoing projects
• Support the creation and upkeep of documents, guides, and internal resources using Google Docs
• Use AI tools (such as ChatGPT) thoughtfully to draft newsletters, responses, and internal documents efficiently
Additional Support
Provide flexible support across projects and initiatives as the needs of the Harmonium Academy evolve.
• Assist with short-term or project-based tasks as priorities shift
• Support planning, communication, and logistics for workshops, events, and retreats (locally and internationally)
• Conduct light research or exploration of tools, platforms, or workflows and report back findings
• Help organize information, documents, or processes to improve clarity and efficiency
• Collaborate with Seth and other team members on new initiatives as they arise
Who This Role is For
This role is best suited for someone who brings both professionalism and heart to their work.
The ideal candidate is:
• Professional, reliable, and experienced in administrative, operational, or community-based support roles
• A self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and follow through without constant direction
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong systems awareness and task management skills
• Comfortable navigating web-based tools and learning new platforms as needed
• Clear, thoughtful, and warm in written and verbal communication
• Flexible and steady when priorities shift, with the ability to adapt without becoming overwhelmed
• Motivated to support meaningful, heart-centered work and collaborate within a small team
A genuine interest in harmonium, kirtan, and devotional music is essential. Prior experience studying, practicing, or participating in Harmonium Academy offerings is strongly preferred.
